Our Tips & Trick Society

We are wound as tight as a drum. And then we march to the beat of that drum which is hurry and rush.

The things that helped tighten it up are:

envy

comparison

competition

expectations

opinions of others

loss of self and voice

loss of purpose

Our soul is thirsty but instead of giving it water, we give it wine and McDonalds.

We move and shake. We keep up with the Jones’ and the Avery’s and the Smith’s. We take bigger and better vacations every year.

We shove our bodies full of junk convenience food and mystery diet food.

We buy a big home in the nice neighborhood and sign up little Johnny and little Sarah for the best private school money can buy.

Hubby stays at work longer and longer these days because we have bills to pay and the new promotion is requiring more from him.

We sign up for running clubs and cycle classes and dye our hair blonde.

We buy the overpriced sneakers and the jean vest because that’s what “they” say is in style now.

Our bathroom looks like a makeup store with all those serums and palettes and face crayons.

But this is the picture of happiness.

Now we know we have some fixing up to do so we look to where we can outsource. The cleaning lady. The yard guy. The pool guy.

We drive down to the Container Store and look for organization all while listening to another podcast on how to hack your schedule and get more done.

We search for the Tips & Tricks on how to fill the leaks in the happiness bucket.

All while choking on the dirty water.
