Fall Bootie Review
Booties are the best.
Period.
They’re not too hot. They don’t come up too high. They are easier to style that knee high boots.
As long as you get the proper socks (this took me awhile to find btw!) then booties are an easy transitional shoe for the fall.
Several years ago I bought a cognac colored Steve Madden bootie from Ross and I still wear them to this day.
Fashionable. Comfortable. Goes with most anything.
When it comes to shoes, I much prefer light colored options as opposed to darker options like a black or navy. In fact, I rarely ever wear black or navy shoes. Being aware of your preference is such a guiding star when shopping as it prevents you from wasting money on items you really aren’t going to wear.
While my cognac booties are still in the mix, they are starting to show their wear and tear. I decided to go looking for other options to add to my wardrobe selection.
Given how much I have loved and worn my sneakers from Walmart (as pictured above), I went there first. Then I went to Target to see what they might be offering for the season.
I was pleased with the selections and ordered three for review.
The One That Didn’t Make The Cut
When compared to the Target bootie, the Walmart option just looked cheap. The rounded toe felt dated and the soles were not made as well.
And The Ones That Did Make The Cut
I loooooove both of these as they are first and foremost comfortable and secondly easy to wear and style!
The Best Socks To Wear
I have and love these footies that I ordered from Amazon. I have my eye on higher cut style as the lower cut sometimes isn’t enough coverage.
I have bought cotton versions of these footies from other retailers like Gap and Ann Taylor LOFT. I have noticed that the cotton stretches out over time and they end up in the donate bin well before their time.
How To Style Your Booties
Booties look great with most anything.
Overalls. Dresses. Skirts. Skinny jeans. Bootcut jeans (can you believe these are making a comeback?!)
Shorts. okay, maybe I went a little too far with the shorts.
For reference, I am 5’2”. Go with your normal size in these.
Shopping For
I’ve got my eye on several other styles of booties as I want to ensure I have options this season! I love the white boots from Walmart but in some cases they are just a hair too white.
At the end of the day, it takes the same amount of time to great dressed in something that makes you feel great and something that makes you feel frumpy. Booties level up most any outfit, are no less comfortable than sneakers, and cost about the same (if not less!).
