Summer Fitness Favorites from Old Navy
While it is much easier to workout in the summer, there is also the heat that one must contend with.
And boy howdy is it hot this time of year! But I feel that working out in the summer builds endurance and stamina. Not to mention, I am far more motivated to workout during a hot, sunny day than I am a cold, dreary winter day.
The #1 thing I look for in summer fitness clothes is how well does this wick away sweat. Nothing is worse than feeling like you jumped in a pool halfway through a power walk or a game of pickleball.
For example, if there is too much cotton in a shirt, then I am far less likely to wear it.
The other thing I look for is support, but not too tight.
I’m not picky at all. ;)
I’ve been a huge fan of Old Navy’s active line for several years. They are made well and hold up wash after wash after wash. There are several varieties within their activewear division which is subdivided by fabric and fit.
One thing I struggle with is coordinating outfits without looking like I stepped out of the ‘80s and without looking too matchy-matchy.

Workout tops run big so I recommend sizing down unless you like a more roomy fit.

I will forever be a yoga & barre girl, but I like mixing it up with exercises that allow me to get vitamin D while burning some fat. :)

I’m still experimenting with different activity tracker apps but have loved Map My Run by Under Armour.
Do you have an Apple Watch? If so, does it track activity and fitness pretty well?
My hope is you find inspiration to move even when it’s hot knowing that the right tools can make (or break) a good fitness schedule!
Old Navy is sometimes overlooked but I HIGHLY recommend stocking up on basic pieces (especially when they go on sale).
